In our 6th grade STEAM class we are choosing from Lego Mindstorms kits, Lego simple machine kits, and K'nex pieces to create machines that simplify our lives! The main question I want students to think about is how do simple machines make our lives easier? Students will work on a total of three projects and present them during the nine week course.
Students are working on their Design Products Projects and working on the sales of their inventory! How are their products working? What class levers are they? What do they do? Why should we buy them? How much do they cost?
7th and 8th grade are working on the Design and Modeling course created by Project Lead the Way (PLTW). Students are learning how to utilize Google apps in Google classroom to communicate their design processes as they learn about creating a foot orthosis to developing a toy that assist in the muscular development of people with Cerebral Palsy! Students will learn to draw top, front, and side views of their projects and use AutoCad 1-2-3 Design to develop a 3-d model for their work!
